Day 4: Remembering Where You Came From
Reading: Romans 5:6-11, Ephesians 2:1-10
Devotional: "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Never forget this truth. Jesus didn't wait for you to clean up, get better, or become worthy. He loved you at your worst. This should radically shape how we love others. Some of us have walked with the Lord so long we've forgotten our own rescue story. We judge the addict, the broken, the lost—forgetting we were once utterly helpless ourselves. God showed His great love by sending Christ while we were still His enemies. That's long-suffering love. It takes years sometimes—years of lunches, conversations, prayers, showing up when it's inconvenient. You may never see the fruit, but God is working. Today, remember your own journey. Let gratitude for God's patience with you fuel patience toward others. Who needs you to be long-suffering with them?
