Day 4: Love as Action, Not Emotion

Devotional: "For God so loved the world that He gave..." Love in Scripture is always followed by action. It's not primarily a feeling but a choice—a decision to give, serve, and sacrifice regardless of emotion. Our culture reduces love to chemistry, attraction, and "vibing," but biblical love transcends feelings. This is crucial for lasting marriages because emotions fluctuate, bodies change, and circumstances shift. When you don't "feel" love for your spouse, that's precisely when love becomes most authentic—when you choose to act lovingly despite your feelings. God demonstrated this by sending Jesus while we were still sinners. He didn't wait until we deserved it. Today, identify one specific action you can take to demonstrate love to your spouse, even if you don't feel particularly romantic or connected. Remember: feelings often follow faithful actions.
