Day 5: Building Something New
Devotional: You cannot build a new life while living in the past. God declares, "Forget the former things; I am doing a new thing!" Yet we often miss His new work because we're camped in yesterday's wounds. Whether in a struggling marriage, navigating divorce recovery, or blending families, healing requires intentional pursuit—not passive waiting. Time doesn't equal healing; unaddressed wounds can grow more bitter with years. Blended families require unusual grace because they weren't the original design, bringing luggage instead of baggage. But God isn't surprised by your complicated story. He grafts broken branches into something beautiful, creating unity from chaos. This requires deciding to love before feeling it, extending tenderhearted mercy, and clothing yourself daily in grace. What "former thing" keeps you from God's new work? Today, intentionally pursue healing through prayer, honest conversation, or counseling. Let God rebuild, one piece at a time.
