Day 1: The Choice Before Us
Reading: Joshua 24:14-15
Devotional: Joshua's challenge to Israel echoes through time: "Choose this day whom you will serve." This isn't a one-time decision but a daily surrender. Every morning presents fresh opportunities to give God our whole heart or divide our loyalty between Him and the world. The Israelites had witnessed miracles—the sun standing still, walls falling down—yet still struggled with divided hearts. Perhaps you've experienced God's faithfulness, yet find yourself hedging your bets with worldly securities. Today, examine what competes for the throne of your heart. Is it career success, financial security, or relationships? God doesn't demand perfection, but He does require a choice. Half-hearted surrender produces whole frustration. Choose today—not out of guilt, but out of gratitude for a God who refuses to compete for what He already owns.
Reflection: What is currently competing most for your heart's devotion?
