Day 3: Death by a Thousand Cuts
Reading: Song of Solomon 2:15
Devotional: "Catch the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards." Relationships rarely end with one catastrophic event; they die from a thousand small cuts. The same is true spiritually. Division of heart usually starts small—a secret sin you think isn't hurting anyone, an unchecked distraction, a "good person" relationship that slowly pulls you from church. These little compromises create large spiritual fractures over time. What repeatedly competes for your attention will eventually compete for your heart. That's why you must be vigilant about the small things. Turn your head from temptation. Guard your time. Protect your priorities. The enemy doesn't need to destroy you all at once; he's patient enough to do it gradually. Small compromises today become gaping holes tomorrow. Catch the foxes now—before they devour your vineyard.
Reflection: What "little foxes" are currently nibbling at your spiritual vineyard?
