Day 3: Making Peace with Your Past

Reading: Philippians 3:12-14

Devotional: Paul, writing from prison, declares something revolutionary: he focuses on forgetting what is behind and straining toward what lies ahead. But forgetting doesn't mean pretending the past never happened—it means refusing to let it define your future. Your past may include broken relationships, failures, or trauma that still affects you today. Making peace requires actual work: offering forgiveness, asking for forgiveness, and sometimes seeking professional help. You cannot sweep pain under the rug and expect it to disappear. It will keep resurfacing in your future until you deal with it now. God isn't asking you to be perfect, but He is inviting you to be free. What unresolved issue from your past keeps weighing you down? What step can you take today toward reconciliation or healing? Your past doesn't disqualify you from God's purpose—it often prepares you for it.
