Day 2: Hearing Versus Doing

Reading: James 1:19-25

Devotional: We can become experts at spiritual consumption—attending church, listening to podcasts, memorizing verses—while remaining unchanged. James warns that hearing without doing creates dangerous self-deception. We fool ourselves into thinking knowledge equals growth. But transformation requires application. It's the difference between buying a gym membership and actually working out, between owning a Bible and living its truth. God didn't give us His Word to admire but to obey. The power to save our souls is already planted within us through His Word, but that seed only grows when watered by obedience. Today, ask God to show you not just what to learn, but what to do.
