Day 2: Dependence Over Independence

Reading: Psalm 127:1-2; Proverbs 3:5-6

Devotional: From childhood, we're wired for independence. We want to push the cart ourselves, build our own lives, succeed by our own strength. But God's economy works differently. Christ calls us to dependence—to abide in Him, to acknowledge that apart from Him we can do nothing. This isn't weakness; it's wisdom. A branch doesn't strain to produce grapes; it simply remains connected to the vine. When you depend on Christ as your source, fruit comes effortlessly. Your efforts apart from Him produce only temporary results. But connected to Him, your life produces eternal impact. Stop striving and start abiding. Trust Him as your true provider, not just your employer or your own abilities.

Reflection Question: Where am I trying to be independent when God is calling me to dependence?
