Day 4: Embracing the Pruning Process
Reading: John 15:1-2; Hebrews 12:5-11
Devotional: God prunes those who produce fruit so they can produce even more. This isn't punishment—it's love. For twenty-three years, God has been cutting things out of my life, trimming back what doesn't belong. It's never comfortable. Pruning hurts. But it's necessary for greater fruitfulness. God removes what hinders—sin that trips us up, weights that slow us down, false vines we've grabbed hold of. He cuts away pride, self-reliance, and anything competing for His place in our hearts. Don't resist the pruning. Embrace it. Trust that the Master Gardener knows exactly what needs to go so you can become who He created you to be. The temporary pain produces lasting fruit that glorifies God and blesses others.
Reflection Question: What is God trying to prune from my life that I'm resisting?
